BMW 3 Series Prices in Ireland 2026: What the Badge Really Costs

No car in Ireland carries more pricing folklore than the 3 Series. Sellers believe the badge is worth thousands; buyers believe every one of them is hiding a four-figure bill. The live market sits between the two, and it is more rational than either camp thinks. These numbers come from independent CarValue valuation runs on 22 July 2026 against live Irish listings.

The badge really does hold money

A 2015 diesel with 180,000 km still commanding a €15,200 midpoint is the badge premium in one number - a mainstream saloon of the same year and mileage sits thousands below it. The steep step to the 2020 G20 cohort is the generation change doing the work: Irish buyers pay for the newer shape the way they pay for a plate year, and the €33,700 midpoint with a tight €2,000 total spread shows a market that agrees with itself about what these cars are worth.

Where sellers get it wrong

The 2015 cohort's tight band is a warning to anyone pricing on hope: at that age and mileage the market has fully decided, and asking €17,500 for a car the cohort prices at €15,200 just parks it. The 2018 cars have the widest realistic spread, and that is where specification, service history and the M Sport question genuinely move money.

If you are buying or selling one

Buyers: buy the history file, not the badge - timing chains, EGR coolers and swirl flaps are known F30 diesel talking points, and a documented car is worth its premium. Sellers: lead with the service evidence in the ad, price at fair market, and remember the buyer pool for a six-figure-kilometre German diesel reads every line of the NCT history before calling.
