Ford Focus Prices in Ireland 2026: The Last-of-the-Line Market Guide

The Ford Focus has quietly become one of the most interesting cars on the Irish used market, because Ford has stopped building it. Production ended in late 2025, which means the supply of used examples is now finite. That does not make every Focus a collectible, but it does change the shape of the market over the next few years, and it makes pricing one correctly more worthwhile than ever.

What sets the price on a Focus

Year and mileage do the heavy lifting, as with everything Irish, but the Focus adds two extra levers: engine and trim. The 1.0 EcoBoost petrol is the volume engine and the one buyers search for. Early Mk3 EcoBoost cars had well-documented cooling system issues, and while most were addressed years ago, a documented history on that system still calms buyers and supports the asking price. Diesels sell on mileage tolerance: a 1.5 TDCi with motorway miles and a folder of receipts is an easier sale than a low-mileage town diesel.

Trim is real money on this car

ST-Line trim carries a genuine premium over Zetec and Titanium because it looks the part and buyers actively filter for it. A full ST is its own market with its own buyers. If you are selling an ST-Line, say it in the first three words of the ad. If you are buying one, expect to pay for the badge and haggle on condition instead.

If you are buying

The driving experience is the reason to pick a Focus over the crossover everyone else is buying, and it is also why examples owned by enthusiasts are often the best-kept cars in the classifieds. Check the service book, check the NCT months remaining, and on an EcoBoost listen for a cold start rattle. With production over, a clean late Mk4 is likely to hold its value better than the equivalent year of a car still in production.

If you are selling

Do not price against memory. Focus values vary sharply by engine and trim, and the same year spans a wide band. Find where your exact spec sits in the live listings and price just inside it. Hatchbacks outsell estates in Ireland, but estate buyers are more motivated when they appear, so an estate priced right can actually sell faster.
