Hyundai Tucson Prices in Ireland 2026: Pricing Against the Wall of Supply
The Hyundai Tucson spent several recent years as Ireland's best-selling new car, and the used market is now living with the consequences: a wall of supply, a wide spread of engines and trims, and prices that reward sellers who know exactly where their car sits. If you are pricing one from memory or from a UK guide, you are doing it wrong.
What sets the price on a Tucson
The generation split is the first fork. Gen3 cars (2015 to 2020) are overwhelmingly 1.7 CRDi diesels in Ireland and trade on mileage, history and NCT months like any volume diesel. Gen4 cars (2021 on) are a different product: bolder styling, hybrid and plug-in options, and prices that track how much of Hyundai's five-year unlimited-kilometre warranty remains. A 231 Tucson with two years of factory warranty left is a fundamentally easier sale than a similar car just out of cover.
Diesel, hybrid or plug-in
The 1.6 CRDi mild hybrid remains the rural and towing choice. The full hybrid is the volume seller among family buyers and carries a firm premium over the diesel of the same year. The plug-in hybrid makes sense for buyers who can charge at home, and its value depends heavily on evidence that it actually was charged; a PHEV that lived on petrol alone is worth asking hard questions about.
If you are buying
Supply is your friend. There are usually many Tucsons of your target year within driving distance, so compare at least three before paying for any of them. Confirm remaining warranty with a dealer if that is part of the price you are paying, check the NCT date, and remember that trim levels move money here: Executive and Executive Plus badges are actively searched for.
If you are selling
You are selling into heavy competition, which means the price has to be evidence-based. Find the live cluster for your year, engine and mileage band, and position just inside it. Mention remaining warranty in the first line if you have it. A Tucson priced on data sells quickly because demand is genuinely strong; one priced on optimism just adds to the wall of supply.
