Mazda CX-5 Diesel Prices in Ireland 2026: Look Past the Cheapest CX-5 Advert

A low asking price can make a CX-5 look particularly tempting on a family-SUV search. Before treating it as a bargain, establish why it differs from the other cars you would consider. The answer should come from the actual specification, records and inspection.

We checked live Irish listings on 21 September 2026 for 2018, 2020 and 2022 Mazda CX-5 adverts. After filtering, this diesel snapshot contains 47 adverts across the three selected years. The largest group is 2018: 27 adverts, an average asking price of €13,300 and a median of €13,500. These are advertised prices, not completed sales or a personalised valuation.

Republic of Ireland diesel asking prices. Exact-year searches; no target-mileage filter. Prices rounded to €50 and median mileage to 1,000 km. Middle 50% means the lower-to-upper quartile, not the cheapest-to-dearest range. Different trims, bodies and mileages may be mixed.

Make the diesel check vehicle-specific

Confirm the engine, gearbox and driven-wheel configuration, then request the maintenance evidence for that car. Ask a qualified inspector about condition and relevant upcoming work. This guide does not assign a fault or repair allowance to every CX-5; it gives you asking-price context for a more informed examination.

What changes between the selected years?

The 2022 median is €11,500 higher than the 2018 median in this snapshot. Their typical advertised mileages are approximately 110,000 km and 140,000 km respectively. That is a comparison of different cars advertised today. It is not a depreciation measurement, an upgrade quote or proof that the year alone creates the price gap. The middle-price bands for those two groups do not overlap in this sample, but the full sets of adverts can still contain exceptions.

How wide is the price spread?

Within the 2018 group, the middle half of asking prices runs from €11,850 to €15,200. That is a spread of about €3,350 before considering the highest and lowest quarter of adverts. The average uses every eligible price; the median is the middle observation and is less sensitive to a few unusually expensive cars. Neither measure adjusts this table to your mileage or exact specification.

Compare the ready-to-use cost

If inspection identifies work, put the quoted amount beside the asking price. Do the same for the next suitable car rather than comparing one fully prepared example with another that needs attention. Sellers should explain preparation and records plainly, making it easier for buyers to understand a price above the cheapest advert.

What is actually in the sample?

2018: 27 eligible adverts; fuel labels: 27 diesel; seller labels: 17 dealer, 10 private.

2020: 8 eligible adverts; fuel labels: 8 diesel; seller labels: 5 dealer, 3 private. Fewer than ten adverts makes this group especially sensitive to individual cars.

2022: 12 eligible adverts; fuel labels: 12 diesel; seller labels: 12 dealer.

How we collected the figures

We fetched every available results page for each selected year and removed duplicate adverts, listings outside the Republic, missing or implausible price/mileage entries, and obvious parts, wanted or non-running adverts. This is an unweighted snapshot of eligible asking prices, with dealer and private adverts retained. Adverts and search filters can contain mistakes; the source links let you check what is available now.
