Mercedes A-Class Diesel Prices in Ireland 2026: The Badge Does Not Set the A-Class Price

An A-Class can attract attention before its specification has been read properly. The diesel asking-price search is a useful starting point, but a meaningful comparison still needs the exact derivative, body, gearbox and condition.

We checked live Irish listings on 21 September 2026 for 2018, 2020 and 2022 Mercedes-Benz A-Class adverts. After filtering, this diesel snapshot contains 67 adverts across the three selected years. The largest group is 2020: 32 adverts, an average asking price of €23,100 and a median of €23,850. These are advertised prices, not completed sales or a personalised valuation.

Republic of Ireland diesel asking prices. Exact-year searches; no target-mileage filter. Prices rounded to €50 and median mileage to 1,000 km. Middle 50% means the lower-to-upper quartile, not the cheapest-to-dearest range. Different trims, bodies and mileages may be mixed.

Check the details behind the trim description

Look at the engine and equipment on the actual vehicle rather than treating every sporting trim name as the same package. If saloon and hatchback examples appear in the search, compare them separately where your needs differ. A year-and-model average is broader than a valuation of one specific A-Class.

What changes between the selected years?

The 2022 median is €16,900 higher than the 2018 median in this snapshot. Their typical advertised mileages are approximately 58,000 km and 183,000 km respectively. That is a comparison of different cars advertised today. It is not a depreciation measurement, an upgrade quote or proof that the year alone creates the price gap. The middle-price bands for those two groups do not overlap in this sample, but the full sets of adverts can still contain exceptions.

How wide is the price spread?

Within the 2020 group, the middle half of asking prices runs from €21,700 to €24,950. That is a spread of about €3,250 before considering the highest and lowest quarter of adverts. The average uses every eligible price; the median is the middle observation and is less sensitive to a few unusually expensive cars. Neither measure adjusts this table to your mileage or exact specification.

Use the interior as evidence, not distraction

Try the driving position and controls, inspect the seats and surfaces, and ask for service records. An attractive cabin photograph should lead to more questions about the car, not fewer. Sellers can support their asking price by giving clear specifications and honest close-ups alongside the flattering photographs.

What is actually in the sample?

2018: 18 eligible adverts; fuel labels: 18 diesel; seller labels: 13 dealer, 5 private.

2020: 32 eligible adverts; fuel labels: 32 diesel; seller labels: 29 dealer, 3 private.

2022: 17 eligible adverts; fuel labels: 17 diesel; seller labels: 17 dealer.

How we collected the figures

We fetched every available results page for each selected year and removed duplicate adverts, listings outside the Republic, missing or implausible price/mileage entries, and obvious parts, wanted or non-running adverts. This is an unweighted snapshot of eligible asking prices, with dealer and private adverts retained. Adverts and search filters can contain mistakes; the source links let you check what is available now.
