Mercedes-Benz C-Class Prices in Ireland 2026: Diesel Prices With a Clear Comparison Set
C-Class asking prices need to be read alongside the actual body, engine and specification. The badge provides a starting search, but it does not establish that every returned advert is a close substitute.
This September 2026 guide uses current Irish advertised listings gathered through CarValue.ie’s market-search and comparison engine. The largest usable pricing group here is 2020, with 12 adverts and a median asking price of €26,972. Its middle half runs from €26,950 to €28,961. The 2022 and 2020 medians differ by €12,978. That is a difference between today’s advertised cohorts, not measured depreciation of one car; mileage, engine, specification and seller mix can also differ.

What the sample actually contains
2020: 12 pricing listings in the 60k-120k km (±30k) band; 11 dealer and 1 private adverts; advertised engines: 1.9 L (1), 2.0 L (9), 2.1 L (1), 2.2 L (1). Median asking price €26,972. The group describes available asking prices, not verified transactions.
2022: 3 pricing listings in the 30k-90k km (±30k) band; 3 dealer and 0 private adverts; advertised engines: 2.0 L (3). Median asking price €39,950. The small group is particularly sensitive to individual adverts.
2024: only 0 matching pricing listings remained, so we have not published a numerical band. This is a limit of this search, not proof that no other suitable cars exist.
Match the actual version before the year
Check the engine output, gearbox, body style and trim from the advert and documents. Where a model year spans different versions, avoid interpreting the whole difference as depreciation. The sample is an observation of cars currently advertised, not a history of one car losing value over time.
For buyers: compare the complete car
Make a short list of features you require and inspect those features on the car. Then review history and immediate work. If a dealer advert includes preparation or warranty terms, compare what is actually included rather than treating the dealer label as a fixed price adjustment.
For sellers: support the asking price
Use the precise version in the title and describe condition honestly. Support a higher asking price with relevant details and close comparables. Comparing only against the most expensive C-Class advert can miss the alternatives a buyer will actually consider.
How to use these figures for your own car
The reference mileage is the input used for each research case, not the exact mileage of every advert. The selected band can widen where matches are sparse. Engine and fuel filters also depend on the information in the listings; the notes above show the observed engine mix where available.
The middle 50% is the range from the lower to the upper quartile of the selected asking prices. It is neither the full cheapest-to-dearest range nor a prediction interval for a sale. A buyer’s negotiated amount and a dealer’s trade-in offer can differ from these advertised numbers.
Use the guide to establish the right comparison group, then check current evidence for your actual mileage and specification. A CarValue.ie report shows the listings behind its estimate; an inspection and your car’s records answer the condition questions that listing data cannot.
