Volkswagen Polo Prices in Ireland 2026: Small-Car Prices, With the Details Intact
A Polo can attract buyers with very different requirements: a particular gearbox, a manageable insurance quote or a specific engine. A general Polo average can hide those differences, so start with the exact car you intend to buy or sell.
This September 2026 guide uses current Irish advertised listings gathered through CarValue.ie’s market-search and comparison engine. The largest usable pricing group here is 2020, with 19 adverts and a median asking price of €16,950. Its middle half runs from €15,550 to €17,098. The 2024 and 2020 medians differ by €5,250. That is a difference between today’s advertised cohorts, not measured depreciation of one car; mileage, engine, specification and seller mix can also differ.

One litre is not a complete specification
Engine capacity alone does not describe power output, gearbox or equipment. Copy the full version from the paperwork and check each advert rather than assuming similarly labelled one-litre cars are interchangeable. Keep a performance derivative outside an ordinary petrol-hatchback comparison.
For buyers: compare the complete car
Obtain an insurance quote for the exact registration before committing to a shortlist, then compare the car's condition and history. If an automatic is essential, compare automatics directly rather than applying an assumed premium to a manual-car median.
For sellers: support the asking price
Describe the gearbox, mileage unit and maintenance evidence clearly. For buyers choosing between several small cars, an advert that answers basic questions is easier to assess. The table supplies a market starting point; it does not establish what an individual buyer will pay for your specification.
How to use these figures for your own car
The reference mileage is the input used for each research case, not the exact mileage of every advert. The selected band can widen where matches are sparse. Engine and fuel filters also depend on the information in the listings; the notes above show the observed engine mix where available.
The middle 50% is the range from the lower to the upper quartile of the selected asking prices. It is neither the full cheapest-to-dearest range nor a prediction interval for a sale. A buyer’s negotiated amount and a dealer’s trade-in offer can differ from these advertised numbers.
Use the guide to establish the right comparison group, then check current evidence for your actual mileage and specification. A CarValue.ie report shows the listings behind its estimate; an inspection and your car’s records answer the condition questions that listing data cannot.
