Hyundai i30 value in Ireland
The i30 built its Irish following as a sensible, well-warrantied family hatchback, and the used market reflects that. Second generation cars from 2012 to 2016 and the third generation from 2017 onwards make up most Irish stock. Because Hyundai's five year warranty pulled plenty of new buyers here, Irish-supplied examples with full dealer history are common, and that provenance typically earns a premium over imports.
Fuel type is the big divider. The 1.6 CRDi diesel dominated i30 sales through the 2010s and still suits rural, high mileage drivers, but demand has swung towards the 1.0 T-GDI and other small petrol engines for commuter and town use. A diesel i30 carrying above average mileage tends to be judged more harshly now than it was a few years ago, while a clean, low mileage petrol car in a higher trim is one of the easier hatchbacks to sell in Ireland.
Supply is the other factor. Hyundai's Irish range has shifted heavily towards crossovers and EVs, so newer i30s are becoming scarce, which tends to support values of the last petrol cars. At the older end, first-car buyers and budget family buyers keep 2012 to 2015 cars moving, though annual NCT requirements past ten years of age start to weigh on the roughest examples.
