BMW 1 Series Diesel Prices in Ireland 2026: A Small BMW Still Needs a Proper Price Check
A 1 Series can offer an appealing way into a familiar premium badge. The smaller body does not remove the need for a careful specification and condition check. Decide which actual car you want before using a broad diesel price range to set the budget.
We checked live Irish listings on 21 September 2026 for 2018, 2020 and 2022 BMW 1 Series adverts. After filtering, this diesel snapshot contains 95 adverts across the three selected years. The largest group is 2018: 51 adverts, an average asking price of €16,300 and a median of €16,350. These are advertised prices, not completed sales or a personalised valuation.

Republic of Ireland diesel asking prices. Exact-year searches; no target-mileage filter. Prices rounded to €50 and median mileage to 1,000 km. Middle 50% means the lower-to-upper quartile, not the cheapest-to-dearest range. Different trims, bodies and mileages may be mixed.
Keep the derivative in the comparison
Confirm engine, gearbox and equipment from the individual advert and documentation. Different versions and registration years should not be treated as identical because they share the model family. If a particular trim matters, compare examples carrying equivalent equipment rather than assigning a fixed premium to its name.
What changes between the selected years?
The 2022 median is €9,100 higher than the 2018 median in this snapshot. Their typical advertised mileages are approximately 93,000 km and 89,000 km respectively. That is a comparison of different cars advertised today. It is not a depreciation measurement, an upgrade quote or proof that the year alone creates the price gap. The middle-price bands for those two groups do not overlap in this sample, but the full sets of adverts can still contain exceptions.
How wide is the price spread?
Within the 2018 group, the middle half of asking prices runs from €15,000 to €17,650. That is a spread of about €2,650 before considering the highest and lowest quarter of adverts. The average uses every eligible price; the median is the middle observation and is less sensitive to a few unusually expensive cars. Neither measure adjusts this table to your mileage or exact specification.
Look at the money after purchase
Check tyres, wheels, service records and inspection findings before deciding what the car will cost to put into use. Sellers should show the condition details that a careful buyer will ask about. The BMW badge may create interest, but the specific car still has to explain its asking price.
What is actually in the sample?
2018: 51 eligible adverts; fuel labels: 51 diesel; seller labels: 41 dealer, 10 private.
2020: 34 eligible adverts; fuel labels: 34 diesel; seller labels: 28 dealer, 6 private.
2022: 10 eligible adverts; fuel labels: 10 diesel; seller labels: 10 dealer.
How we collected the figures
We fetched every available results page for each selected year and removed duplicate adverts, listings outside the Republic, missing or implausible price/mileage entries, and obvious parts, wanted or non-running adverts. This is an unweighted snapshot of eligible asking prices, with dealer and private adverts retained. Adverts and search filters can contain mistakes; the source links let you check what is available now.
