BMW 3 Series Diesel Prices in Ireland 2026: The BMW Badge Is Only the Starting Point

Searching for a diesel 3 Series is a start, not a specification. Two cars can share a year and model family while differing in engine, body, equipment and running costs. The expensive mistake is comparing the badge first and discovering those differences after making an offer.

We checked live Irish listings on 21 September 2026 for 2021, 2022 and 2023 BMW 3 Series adverts. After filtering, this diesel snapshot contains 86 adverts across the three selected years. The largest group is 2021: 44 adverts, an average asking price of €31,500 and a median of €32,600. These are advertised prices, not completed sales or a personalised valuation.

Republic of Ireland diesel asking prices. Exact-year searches; no target-mileage filter. Prices rounded to €50 and median mileage to 1,000 km. Middle 50% means the lower-to-upper quartile, not the cheapest-to-dearest range. Different trims, bodies and mileages may be mixed.

Separate the version you actually want

Write down the exact derivative, gearbox and driven-wheel configuration from the advert and documents. Keep saloons and Touring examples in separate comparisons if the body matters to you. Diesel-hybrid labels are shown in our sample notes where present; the broad table should not erase a meaningful drivetrain difference.

What changes between the selected years?

The 2023 median is €10,850 higher than the 2021 median in this snapshot. Their typical advertised mileages are approximately 95,000 km and 93,000 km respectively. That is a comparison of different cars advertised today. It is not a depreciation measurement, an upgrade quote or proof that the year alone creates the price gap. The middle-price bands overlap, which is another reason to compare the individual specification and condition rather than drawing a hard line between the years.

How wide is the price spread?

Within the 2021 group, the middle half of asking prices runs from €28,950 to €34,950. That is a spread of about €6,000 before considering the highest and lowest quarter of adverts. The average uses every eligible price; the median is the middle observation and is less sensitive to a few unusually expensive cars. Neither measure adjusts this table to your mileage or exact specification.

Budget beyond the purchase price

Check tyre sizes, wheel condition, service evidence and any work identified by an independent inspection. These are car-specific costs, not a blanket discount to apply to every BMW. Sellers should explain valuable specification clearly and show the ordinary condition details that an informed buyer will ask about anyway.

What is actually in the sample?

2021: 44 eligible adverts; fuel labels: 44 diesel; seller labels: 42 dealer, 2 private.

2022: 30 eligible adverts; fuel labels: 30 diesel; seller labels: 30 dealer.

2023: 12 eligible adverts; fuel labels: 12 diesel; seller labels: 12 dealer.

How we collected the figures

We fetched every available results page for each selected year and removed duplicate adverts, listings outside the Republic, missing or implausible price/mileage entries, and obvious parts, wanted or non-running adverts. This is an unweighted snapshot of eligible asking prices, with dealer and private adverts retained. Adverts and search filters can contain mistakes; the source links let you check what is available now.
