BMW X1 Diesel Prices in Ireland 2026: The Compact Premium SUV Price Check

An X1 can look like a manageable step into a premium SUV. Manageable should be tested against the exact car, not the badge or a finance headline. Engine, drivetrain, equipment and preparation all belong in the comparison.

We checked live Irish listings on 21 September 2026 for 2018, 2020 and 2022 BMW X1 adverts. After filtering, this diesel snapshot contains 36 adverts across the three selected years. The largest group is 2018: 15 adverts, an average asking price of €18,900 and a median of €19,950. These are advertised prices, not completed sales or a personalised valuation.

Republic of Ireland diesel asking prices. Exact-year searches; no target-mileage filter. Prices rounded to €50 and median mileage to 1,000 km. Middle 50% means the lower-to-upper quartile, not the cheapest-to-dearest range. Different trims, bodies and mileages may be mixed.

Verify the configuration you are paying for

Check the full derivative and driven-wheel configuration in the documentation. Do not assume a particular capability from the X1 name alone. Within the diesel sample, compare gearbox and mileage too. A broad year group is an overview of adverts, not proof that every example represents the same product.

What changes between the selected years?

The 2022 median is €14,950 higher than the 2018 median in this snapshot. Their typical advertised mileages are approximately 100,000 km and 149,000 km respectively. That is a comparison of different cars advertised today. It is not a depreciation measurement, an upgrade quote or proof that the year alone creates the price gap. The middle-price bands for those two groups do not overlap in this sample, but the full sets of adverts can still contain exceptions.

How wide is the price spread?

Within the 2018 group, the middle half of asking prices runs from €16,400 to €21,800. That is a spread of about €5,400 before considering the highest and lowest quarter of adverts. The average uses every eligible price; the median is the middle observation and is less sensitive to a few unusually expensive cars. Neither measure adjusts this table to your mileage or exact specification.

Give the premium a purpose

Try the cabin and load area with your usual passengers or luggage. Decide which equipment improves your own use rather than buying somebody else's ideal specification. If selling, explain the version accurately and show records and condition clearly enough that a buyer can compare it with the next X1 on the list.

What is actually in the sample?

2018: 15 eligible adverts; fuel labels: 15 diesel; seller labels: 13 dealer, 2 private.

2020: 10 eligible adverts; fuel labels: 10 diesel; seller labels: 8 dealer, 2 private.

2022: 11 eligible adverts; fuel labels: 11 diesel; seller labels: 9 dealer, 2 private.

How we collected the figures

We fetched every available results page for each selected year and removed duplicate adverts, listings outside the Republic, missing or implausible price/mileage entries, and obvious parts, wanted or non-running adverts. This is an unweighted snapshot of eligible asking prices, with dealer and private adverts retained. Adverts and search filters can contain mistakes; the source links let you check what is available now.
