Ford Focus Diesel Prices in Ireland 2026: What Does a Sensible Used Focus Cost?

The Focus belongs on plenty of sensible-car shortlists. The difficulty is deciding which advert is genuinely comparable with the car you own or want. A diesel search can bring together different bodies, equipment levels and histories before you have even considered mileage.

We checked live Irish listings on 21 September 2026 for 2019, 2020 and 2021 Ford Focus adverts. After filtering, this diesel snapshot contains 198 adverts across the three selected years. The largest group is 2020: 72 adverts, an average asking price of €16,500 and a median of €17,000. These are advertised prices, not completed sales or a personalised valuation.

Republic of Ireland diesel asking prices. Exact-year searches; no target-mileage filter. Prices rounded to €50 and median mileage to 1,000 km. Middle 50% means the lower-to-upper quartile, not the cheapest-to-dearest range. Different trims, bodies and mileages may be mixed.

Do not price the trim badge on its own

Check the actual engine, gearbox and body first. If a sporting appearance package matters to you, compare it with similarly equipped cars rather than adding an arbitrary premium to a basic example. Look for service evidence appropriate to the engine in the car, and ask a qualified inspector about work that may be due.

What changes between the selected years?

The 2021 median is €4,550 higher than the 2019 median in this snapshot. Their typical advertised mileages are approximately 120,000 km and 153,000 km respectively. That is a comparison of different cars advertised today. It is not a depreciation measurement, an upgrade quote or proof that the year alone creates the price gap. The middle-price bands for those two groups do not overlap in this sample, but the full sets of adverts can still contain exceptions.

How wide is the price spread?

Within the 2020 group, the middle half of asking prices runs from €15,700 to €18,450. That is a spread of about €2,750 before considering the highest and lowest quarter of adverts. The average uses every eligible price; the median is the middle observation and is less sensitive to a few unusually expensive cars. Neither measure adjusts this table to your mileage or exact specification.

Put condition into the negotiation

A lower asking price is useful only if the car still meets your needs after preparation. Note tyres, body repairs and documented maintenance separately. Sellers should show those details up front and support the asking price with genuinely similar Focus adverts, rather than the most expensive one they can find.

What is actually in the sample?

2019: 64 eligible adverts; fuel labels: 64 diesel; seller labels: 49 dealer, 15 private.

2020: 72 eligible adverts; fuel labels: 72 diesel; seller labels: 52 dealer, 20 private.

2021: 62 eligible adverts; fuel labels: 62 diesel; seller labels: 49 dealer, 13 private.

How we collected the figures

We fetched every available results page for each selected year and removed duplicate adverts, listings outside the Republic, missing or implausible price/mileage entries, and obvious parts, wanted or non-running adverts. This is an unweighted snapshot of eligible asking prices, with dealer and private adverts retained. Adverts and search filters can contain mistakes; the source links let you check what is available now.
