Kia Picanto Prices in Ireland 2026: How Wide Is the Small-Car Price Gap?
A Picanto can be small enough to make the purchase feel simple. The money still deserves a proper comparison. On a relatively modest budget, specification, a gearbox preference or immediate preparation can materially change which advert offers the more useful car.
We checked live Irish listings on 21 September 2026 for 2018, 2020 and 2022 Kia Picanto adverts. After filtering, this petrol snapshot contains 30 adverts across the three selected years. The largest group is 2022: 14 adverts, an average asking price of €12,950 and a median of €13,250. These are advertised prices, not completed sales or a personalised valuation.

Republic of Ireland petrol asking prices. Exact-year searches; no target-mileage filter. Prices rounded to €50 and median mileage to 1,000 km. Middle 50% means the lower-to-upper quartile, not the cheapest-to-dearest range. Different trims, bodies and mileages may be mixed.
Compare the same kind of small car
Separate manuals and automatics, then check engine description and equipment. If the car is intended for a new driver, get the insurance quote for that exact vehicle. Do not let a seller's description of it as a perfect first car stand in for your own costs and requirements.
What changes between the selected years?
The 2022 median is €3,550 higher than the 2018 median in this snapshot. Their typical advertised mileages are approximately 56,000 km and 86,000 km respectively. That is a comparison of different cars advertised today. It is not a depreciation measurement, an upgrade quote or proof that the year alone creates the price gap. The middle-price bands for those two groups do not overlap in this sample, but the full sets of adverts can still contain exceptions.
How wide is the price spread?
Within the 2022 group, the middle half of asking prices runs from €11,750 to €13,950. That is a spread of about €2,200 before considering the highest and lowest quarter of adverts. The average uses every eligible price; the median is the middle observation and is less sensitive to a few unusually expensive cars. Neither measure adjusts this table to your mileage or exact specification.
Show the condition without the sales patter
For sellers, close-up photographs of the seats, wheels and body help explain the price. Include the mileage unit and service evidence. For buyers, put any inspection findings beside the asking price before comparing alternatives. A lower purchase price is not automatically a lower ready-to-use cost.
What is actually in the sample?
2018: 9 eligible adverts; fuel labels: 9 petrol; seller labels: 5 dealer, 4 private. Fewer than ten adverts makes this group especially sensitive to individual cars.
2020: 7 eligible adverts; fuel labels: 7 petrol; seller labels: 7 dealer. Fewer than ten adverts makes this group especially sensitive to individual cars.
2022: 14 eligible adverts; fuel labels: 14 petrol; seller labels: 13 dealer, 1 private.
How we collected the figures
We fetched every available results page for each selected year and removed duplicate adverts, listings outside the Republic, missing or implausible price/mileage entries, and obvious parts, wanted or non-running adverts. This is an unweighted snapshot of eligible asking prices, with dealer and private adverts retained. Adverts and search filters can contain mistakes; the source links let you check what is available now.
