Kia Rio Prices in Ireland 2026: The Used Rio Price Check

The Rio makes sense on a shortlist when the priority is a usable small car rather than a statement. That does not make the cheapest advert the obvious answer. Gearbox, equipment, mileage and documentation still divide the cars into more useful groups than the badge alone.

We checked live Irish listings on 21 September 2026 for 2018, 2020 and 2022 Kia Rio adverts. After filtering, this petrol snapshot contains 20 adverts across the three selected years. The largest group is 2018: 10 adverts, an average asking price of €10,750 and a median of €10,200. These are advertised prices, not completed sales or a personalised valuation.

Republic of Ireland petrol asking prices. Exact-year searches; no target-mileage filter. Prices rounded to €50 and median mileage to 1,000 km. Middle 50% means the lower-to-upper quartile, not the cheapest-to-dearest range. Different trims, bodies and mileages may be mixed.

Start with your non-negotiables

If you need an automatic or a particular feature, filter for it before comparing prices. Otherwise you can build a budget around a car you would never buy. Ask for the service evidence and check any claim about remaining cover against the written terms for that vehicle.

What changes between the selected years?

The 2022 median is €6,250 higher than the 2018 median in this snapshot. Their typical advertised mileages are approximately 68,000 km and 120,000 km respectively. That is a comparison of different cars advertised today. It is not a depreciation measurement, an upgrade quote or proof that the year alone creates the price gap. The middle-price bands for those two groups do not overlap in this sample, but the full sets of adverts can still contain exceptions.

How wide is the price spread?

Within the 2018 group, the middle half of asking prices runs from €9,950 to €11,350. That is a spread of about €1,400 before considering the highest and lowest quarter of adverts. The average uses every eligible price; the median is the middle observation and is less sensitive to a few unusually expensive cars. Neither measure adjusts this table to your mileage or exact specification.

Keep the seller's case simple

A clear specification, honest photographs and readable records are a stronger starting point than repeated claims that the car is a bargain. Buyers can then compare it with suitable alternatives. If a premium depends on unusually good condition, make that condition visible and be prepared for it to be inspected.

What is actually in the sample?

2018: 10 eligible adverts; fuel labels: 10 petrol; seller labels: 8 dealer, 2 private.

2020: 7 eligible adverts; fuel labels: 7 petrol; seller labels: 5 dealer, 2 private. Fewer than ten adverts makes this group especially sensitive to individual cars.

2022: 3 eligible adverts; fuel labels: 3 petrol; seller labels: 3 dealer. Fewer than ten adverts makes this group especially sensitive to individual cars.

How we collected the figures

We fetched every available results page for each selected year and removed duplicate adverts, listings outside the Republic, missing or implausible price/mileage entries, and obvious parts, wanted or non-running adverts. This is an unweighted snapshot of eligible asking prices, with dealer and private adverts retained. Adverts and search filters can contain mistakes; the source links let you check what is available now.
