Kia Sorento Prices in Ireland 2026: Price the Family Workhorse Carefully
A used Sorento may be bought to work hard for a family. That is exactly why the individual car matters more than a reassuring description. Compare the diesel asking prices, then investigate whether the actual vehicle has the configuration and condition your plans require.
We checked live Irish listings on 21 September 2026 for 2016, 2018 and 2020 Kia Sorento adverts. After filtering, this diesel snapshot contains 30 adverts across the three selected years. The largest group is 2018: 14 adverts, an average asking price of €19,850 and a median of €20,250. These are advertised prices, not completed sales or a personalised valuation.

Republic of Ireland diesel asking prices. Exact-year searches; no target-mileage filter. Prices rounded to €50 and median mileage to 1,000 km. Middle 50% means the lower-to-upper quartile, not the cheapest-to-dearest range. Different trims, bodies and mileages may be mixed.
Check seats, driven wheels and approved limits
Verify the seating layout and drivetrain from the vehicle documents and specification. If towing is part of the reason for buying, confirm the approved limits for this car and your intended combination. The model name alone cannot establish that it is suitable for the job.
What changes between the selected years?
The 2020 median is €14,900 higher than the 2016 median in this snapshot. Their typical advertised mileages are approximately 142,000 km and 250,000 km respectively. That is a comparison of different cars advertised today. It is not a depreciation measurement, an upgrade quote or proof that the year alone creates the price gap. The middle-price bands for those two groups do not overlap in this sample, but the full sets of adverts can still contain exceptions.
How wide is the price spread?
Within the 2018 group, the middle half of asking prices runs from €17,900 to €22,700. That is a spread of about €4,800 before considering the highest and lowest quarter of adverts. The average uses every eligible price; the median is the middle observation and is less sensitive to a few unusually expensive cars. Neither measure adjusts this table to your mileage or exact specification.
Make condition part of the number
Ask about documented maintenance and have the vehicle inspected independently. List the preparation that is actually needed, rather than assigning a generic repair allowance to every Sorento. Sellers should show the interior, load area and records honestly so a buyer can compare the working condition behind the asking price.
What is actually in the sample?
2016: 13 eligible adverts; fuel labels: 13 diesel; seller labels: 7 dealer, 6 private.
2018: 14 eligible adverts; fuel labels: 14 diesel; seller labels: 8 dealer, 6 private.
2020: 3 eligible adverts; fuel labels: 3 diesel; seller labels: 3 dealer. Fewer than ten adverts makes this group especially sensitive to individual cars.
How we collected the figures
We fetched every available results page for each selected year and removed duplicate adverts, listings outside the Republic, missing or implausible price/mileage entries, and obvious parts, wanted or non-running adverts. This is an unweighted snapshot of eligible asking prices, with dealer and private adverts retained. Adverts and search filters can contain mistakes; the source links let you check what is available now.
