Peugeot 208 Prices in Ireland 2026: What Does a Newer 208 Cost?

A 208 can become a purchase driven by appearance before the price comparison is finished. Pull the search back to the actual engine and gearbox first. Cars of different ages and specifications can sit close together in a search while offering a noticeably different ownership proposition.

We checked live Irish listings on 21 September 2026 for 2018, 2020 and 2022 Peugeot 208 adverts. After filtering, this petrol snapshot contains 57 adverts across the three selected years. The largest group is 2020: 22 adverts, an average asking price of €13,500 and a median of €13,300. These are advertised prices, not completed sales or a personalised valuation.

Republic of Ireland petrol asking prices. Exact-year searches; no target-mileage filter. Prices rounded to €50 and median mileage to 1,000 km. Middle 50% means the lower-to-upper quartile, not the cheapest-to-dearest range. Different trims, bodies and mileages may be mixed.

Make the engine check specific

Read the exact engine description and ask for the maintenance evidence relevant to that vehicle. If work or inspections are recommended, get a clear explanation from a qualified professional. Do not assign every petrol 208 the same maintenance history, and do not treat a generic advert reassurance as a record of completed work.

What changes between the selected years?

The 2022 median is €4,400 higher than the 2018 median in this snapshot. Their typical advertised mileages are approximately 60,000 km and 64,000 km respectively. That is a comparison of different cars advertised today. It is not a depreciation measurement, an upgrade quote or proof that the year alone creates the price gap. The middle-price bands for those two groups do not overlap in this sample, but the full sets of adverts can still contain exceptions.

How wide is the price spread?

Within the 2020 group, the middle half of asking prices runs from €12,500 to €13,950. That is a spread of about €1,450 before considering the highest and lowest quarter of adverts. The average uses every eligible price; the median is the middle observation and is less sensitive to a few unusually expensive cars. Neither measure adjusts this table to your mileage or exact specification.

Set the shortlist before the offer

Try the seating and driving position, then compare cars with the equipment you actually need. For sellers, detailed records and honest condition photographs help a buyer place the car within the range. A newer-looking example can attract attention, but the asking price still needs to make sense against comparable cars.

What is actually in the sample?

How we collected the figures

We fetched every available results page for each selected year and removed duplicate adverts, listings outside the Republic, missing or implausible price/mileage entries, and obvious parts, wanted or non-running adverts. This is an unweighted snapshot of eligible asking prices, with dealer and private adverts retained. Adverts and search filters can contain mistakes; the source links let you check what is available now.
