Kia Sportage value in Ireland
The Kia Sportage competes head to head with the Tucson in Ireland and its used market behaves in a similar way, with one big difference: Kia's seven-year warranty. Because that warranty transfers to subsequent owners, a Sportage still within the seven years and under the warranty's mileage cap carries built-in reassurance that supports resale values, and cars approaching either cut-off can see demand soften.
The generation sold from 2016 to 2021 dominates Irish used listings, mostly in 1.7 CRDi and later 1.6 CRDi diesel form, which suited the rural family buyers who make up much of the Sportage's audience. The current generation, on sale from 2022, added hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions that are increasingly what urban buyers ask for. Diesel still sells well outside the cities, but the shift toward electrified versions is clear in newer stock.
Irish-market trim levels, K2 through K4, have a straightforward effect: mid and upper trims with the larger touchscreen, reversing camera and alloys tend to sell faster than base cars. Mileage sensitivity is moderate, as buyers accept normal family use, but high-mileage examples without full history are noticeably harder to move. Once a Sportage passes the 10-year mark and moves to an annual NCT, values typically step down more quickly.
